This little app fiddles with the monitor's gamma, tracking the sound input device (usually the built in microphone). Hitting character keys briefly pulses the gamma up to 100% intensity.
Note: Of course, there must actually be sound input device set for us to monitor.
With a little acting, it's not hard to convince someone that their iMac's monitor is on the fritz.
It also hides the cursor. Heh. And, although the cursor is hidden, one can still switch to other applications. The program will continue to do it's thing even when in the background.
Gamma is restored to 100% when the program is exited properly (by Cmd-Q or selecting the "Quit" menu item).
